Lady Gaga Condemns Cosmetic Surgery

Lady Gaga has taken aim at celebrities who alter their appearance with cosmetic surgery, insisting she can't stand seeing stars flaunting their "brand-new faces" on the cover of magazines.

The "Poker Face" hit Maker is adamant she has never gone under the knife and she disapproves of artists who alter their looks because they are "promoting insecurity" among impressionable fans.

She tells Harper's Bazaar magazine, "I have never had plastic surgery, and there are many pop singers who have. I think that promoting insecurity in the form of plastic surgery is infinitely more harmful than an artistic expression related to body modification.

"And how many models and actresses do you see on magazine covers who have brand-new faces and have had plastic surgery, while I myself have never had any plastic surgery? I am an artist, and I have the ability and the free will to choose the way the world will envision me."

she has a good point to stand against the nip/tuck industry but before she gets the nerve to forget how to be diplomatic, she should ask if her product is in fact just as materialistic as cosmetic surgery and if she has any right to criticize the fact that she is one of the reasons why some girls go and get cosmetic surgery. have we not noticed how suddenly, after she arrived on the public scene a few years back, her face shape has been the trend in all the fashion ads? if she wants to promote anti self mutiltion, perhaps she should not be so over the top glamorous so that maybe little girls who idolize her dont have to feel bad about themselves for not having the money to be as fashionable as herself. before they go and get the gaga nose job to fit in.
